I just thought id share my happiness with you guys, was one very proud donkey owner this weekend, decided to take my new mare oreo who's ive had 2 weeks this saturday, to her very first ever show she's only 3 so was all very nerve wracking for her lol. i just wanted to get her out and about in the show scene to let her get used to everything. try make it become the norm..
very very early start 5.30 alarm... quick thought whilst laid in bed waking up why why why did i buy i coloured!!!! but of we trotted down to the yard to give her a bath and start platting up.. day started great with her being very chilled out and more than happy to stand have mane pulled and plaited up..
so came to trailer she's only being in once and this was when i first picked her up so was very pleased when she just followed mum right in
bit wobbly on feet to start with but soon found footing..
arrived with sun shineing put in for first class which was yearlings,2 and 3 year olds. so went set about walking round the ring and she behaved brilliant considering a couple of the others horses in our class where being little monsters he he.. was amazed when we got pulled in by the judge in 3rd place!!
was chuffed to pieces as was some very very nice yearlings in our class even if they did have ants in there pants..
so long wait now till next class the coloured class and we have our one and only shower of the day.. which we didnt mind as was just a shower and by this point she was happy to stand and go to sleep in the trailer as was a tired girl..
time came for next class and we were off, our next class was inside and i was expecting a very jolly neddy as crowed sat watching mirrors everywhere and just general scary things that could jump out to bite us.. but no wasnt bothered did a fab trot up really showed of her imensely long legs 16.1 and is all in the legs.. then shock again we got 2nd.. i could have wept at this point very sad i know but ive waited a long time to get the horse of my dreams and she so far so good seems to be it...
headed into last class which was just a handsome horse class and we got our third pretty of the day another 2nd..
was so pleased with my lil girl for her first outing... id said at the start of the day i didnt care how we did was just a learning show for her to get used to been in an arena with other horses standing around etc.. and she did me very proud.. put some pics below..
