Have had a fab horsey weekend. Very tireing but well worth it.
Worked Sat night then went straight onto Warlingham Horse Club XC at Warren Barn with OH so was very tired but had a good day. Murphy did OK round the course with OH but has a tendancy to prefer the jumps going towards home!! Luckily they are such a nice bunch they let him carry on and he got round really well and jumped most of the scarey jumps (towards home) first time. Slept on the drive back then back to work last night.
After finishing work at 7 this morning
I went straight to yard and got my girl ready for our second inhand show at Oakwood Park. Decided to plait her up and she stood like a dream to have it done (never been plaited before). She was a star again, loaded OK, not first time but stupid me forgot to put the front ramp down and that makes all the difference, we entered 2 classes, prettiest mare again for a practice and the inhand class. We got placed 4th in the inhand class out of about 10 which I was really chuffed about. Judge was lovely and friendly and explained that I held her back too much in her trot up. I need to learn to run faster to really show off her beautifull trot which the judge could see she had lurking. She said she thought she was lovely and would have placed us higher had I got her trotting out better
. Practice practice practice now then!! She behaved impecably and saw generators, show jumping, big lorries, marquees etc etc and didn't bat an eyelid I was so proud of her.
Would love to do this show again as its so friendly and they are all so kind. Its the same judge each time so if we work on our trotting up she may do better next time!!!
Good weekend had and I am now off to bed having only had roughly 4 hours sleep since saturday morning.
