OH and I took the 2 mares to a local XC schooling day run by hunt. Lots and lots of fences, suitable for baby horses right the way up to some huge chase fences.
Flo was going really well, even jumped quite a big trakhener over a drain which I htought she mightn't have been keen on as she was abit "ditch"y earlier in the season. We were only about three or four fences from home and.......
Don't remember anything else for about 4 hours when I woke up in local A&E. Scary thing is that I was seemingly walking and talking normally as soon as I got to my feet (but I don't remember that bit at all).
Ended up staying the night in hospital after had everything x-rayed ( all OK thank goodness), and got home sunday afternoon.
Was so glad to get home, check the horses out, and get into my own bed.

Today have laid on sofa most of the day. Was trying to watch At the races, but keep falling asleep, and have to keep dosing up with paracetamol and ibuprofen (thanks Weezy for the tip that you can take these both at the same time as they work differently) as my back and thumb!! (must have tried to hang on to the reins like an idiot) are rather sore.

I think that i may not be appearing at our opening meet on Saturday, however the Int Horse Show is on at the Odessy so is an excuse to get more tickets and spend the weekend there.

Please all send healing vibes in the direction of N Ireland.

Ouch...so what actually happened? Did you fall or her or both? Hope you feel better soon (maybe best if you don't remember it personally as no fear next time)

I would love to know what happened, but OH was in the next field, as were a few friends and didn't see. Someone told him that they looked over and saw a horse's legs in the air (v v scary thought), but there isn't a mark on her saddle which surely would have had grass/mud on it if it had hit the ground. My ribs are v sore, but could have been the impact or if she stood on me, don't like to think that she fell on top of me. If so I am VERY lucky to still be here.

Newry Harriers. It was a really good course. Absolutely loads of fences, and only open the one day per year for the hunt.

I was having a brill day,...until I went SPLAT!!!

Thanks guys for all the healing vibes.

They must be working as (still with the help of some ibuprofen tablets) I am feeling a good bit better today, and managed to go out for a run in the car with OH, and to go out and help bring the three monsters in from the field this evening. I am hoping to hack out perhaps tomorrow, to be able to sit comfortably in my seat at the Horse Show at the weekend, and to be back in work on Monday.

Still wish I knew what happened on Saturday though. She was going so well!!!!!
