My pony is a very good doer so is on limited haylage 7kg a night. As she is on limited amount is only lasting 7 hours even with it tripled netted. Any idea of how to make it lat longer?

When my horse was on a diet, I gave her trugs full of plain oat straw chaff (Honeychop of Halleys) to supplement her haylage. She must have been hungry because she went through 2 bags per week. I changed her to hay and she seemed less hungry. Now she is down to a sensible weight, her appetite is also more normal and she just eats hay. I like her to have a small amount left in the morning.

I did the chopped straw as above but it was costing me a fortune, so mine now gets hay and straw mixed together and put in a wheelie bin feeder so I know he always has forage. Hes maintaining weight nicely on that :)
