I was thinking about giving hunting a go, have never been before. My horse has been many times, but not in the last 5 years. Would it be wise to put a green ribbon in her tail, if only to highlight my ignorance of the sport? also, does anyone know of any good beginners hunts in the suffolk area. preferably jumping ones?
thanks in advance for any advice.

Newmarket and therlow have added some new hunt jumps or so ive heard :) and are faster than the suffolk

the suffolk ....... well mostly ditches for them........ and some pretty big drainage ones ........ so make sure your ned doesnt mind them :D and you should be fine :)

Yes I would stick a green ribbon in, if nothing else it will indicate to the sec and field that you are new to it all, we tend to be more forgiving if you have one in :) Would also call whichever one you choose before hand to let them know, have fun :) x

Im sure you will both be fine, one thing I would say is pick a less social and manic meet than the boxing day or new years day if you are a newb to it all :) x

I will, dont worry! She is not the type to buck/rear/stop etc, and is a demon xc. I just need to make sure our brakes are up to standard! lol - dnt worry, they usually are!

Actually, the green ribbon only applies to your HORSE, not you! So it might be worth it if you are unsure of horse's behaviour when galloped at by another score of horses, but also its your responsibility to keep him away from the other horses and more importantly hounds if you aren't a hundred percent confident of his manners. Good hunting!
