Hello Everyone
I am going through a planning process at the moment and the planners are asking if there are any options for Green sand / surface to minimise any environmental impact . I have looked at all the major providers but cannot see this is a possibility . Does anyone have any experience of this please or know where I can source Green sand or fibre !!!

Regards

the only green sand I have ever seen was very very finely ground glass and came from somewhere local in South Wales. Very weird stuff! Drained well but did ride a bit deep.

Surely they mean eco friendly sand, not that it should actually be coloured green?

They could well mean colour. I'm in the Peak Park and my arena consent was on the basis of a colour which would not stand out at a distance against the local walls. Luckily they are dark grey/ brown which was easy but I would have been refused consent for orange or white sand.
.

I have known people only get planning consent for building on the basis they agreed to paint it green. Strict rules in some places. They want to look from a helicopter and see nothing but green.

Green sand is definitely not environmentally friendly, it comes from the seabed not a quarry. I'd be very surprised if it's used for arenas, but interested to know if it is. And yes it does look a bit green. It's normally used for gardening I think.

Rules for barns and outbuildings in the Peaks in Cheshire and bordering Derbyshire are they must be green or brown but immediately over the border in Staffs it seems to be blue!
