Greenguard halter

Does anyone know if the halter has a break point? Have searched on here and on various websites but not found any info.
Many thanks

Surprisingly they don't have any breakaway points.

I would get a leather or leather crowned head collar instead. It shouldn't be too difficult to add an extra strap up the nose to the poll.

They don't but you do need a greenguard one, a normal headcollar won't do. They have a fixed ring in the centre of the noseband as they have 4 connecting straps. Believe me if your horse is as clever as mine you need 4 fixed points to attach it to!
You can adapt one easily by tying bailer twine onto the throat clip ring and then clipping onto that instead. The adjustment straps will move if pulled though and the leather muzzle straps break easily (mine have all been replaced several times with spur straps or twine!). My horse has managed to get his Greenguard off several times.

I hate turning my horses out in headcollars. When my old mare needed to wear a greenguard muzzle years ago, I put her in a 'fieldsafe' headcolllar but because of the rubber fittings, the muzzle was too heavy for the headcollar and she could manage to stretch the fittings to flip the muzzle to the side. Not really sure how you could remedy this. I resorted to strip grazing as I didn't want to turn her out in a stonger unbreakable headcollar.

I use the red field safe headcollar with mine, can't remember who makes it. Has a Velcro snap release and you can choose between 2 break points. My mare didn't need the centre strap down the front of face after a while. I adapted a side rein so I could still use a headcollar with a break point.
