I have been (well my pony has) referred to these vets in Newmarket but I have never heard of them, and can only find limited info on the internet, does anyone know of these vets. I understand they are right on the highstreet, can you park a lorry there and what about unloading etc, presumably there is room for that? We are going to see Ian Wright (who I have heard of). Anybody any experiences please?

Its one of the leading equine practices in the country-just not as media hungry as some (has no need to be). Has all the toys and mod cons and there is parking/loading round the back. Ian Wright is widely held as being one of the best equine surgeons in the country. used to work there-pm me if you wish!

My horse saw Ian Wright last week - he came down to my local vets to see him and he was great. Didn't want to operate there and then because of a slight skin problem and would rather wait until that has healed up, but should be taking him to Greenwood Ellis in a couple of weeks time to have it done. They are right on the high street, but they have about 12 boxes round the back and just enough space for unloading according to a friend who's been there. Ian Wright is an RCVS specialist in equine surgery and you dont get that title for nothing. I feel very happy that my horse is going there and I think he'll get the best treatment.

Thank you - when they said it was on the High St I had visions of unloading in the middle of Newmarket! I am pleased to hear Ian Wright is the best although I'm not sure there is much more they can do for my boy to be honest

no, you drive round the back (past a Harley Davidson shop if its still there, then right behind Horse Requisites-its been a while!) and they have a loading bay. Quite tight for really big lorries (well it used to be) but if racehorse transporters can get in there!
he really is an excellent surgeon and the rest of the partners are fab too.

It's a great place - right in the middle of Newmarket - parking at the rear so you'll be fine - the roads leading to it are quite narrow and it's quite a surprise to find a full vet practice hidden away midst the town - but it's one of the best places in the country!
Good luck!
