I am so relieved . . . Kal is back to his usual cheeky self :D:D:D:D.

After two nights in his stable he was super for Z to hack yesterday. She schooled him this morning and he tried really hard, bless him. I am hacking him tomorrow, Z is having a flat lesson on him on Thursday, he is having Friday off, jumping at home on Saturday (I'll hack him in the afternoon) and then it's off to Welly to do some unaffiliated SJing on Sunday.

It is so, so lovely to see him with a spring in his step again . . . he was soft, supple and relaxed in the school today.

Lesson learned - he does enjoy being out 247, but not 7 days a week . . . so, he was out in the field last night and will be out again tonight, but then back in tomorrow for a good kip/chill.

Go GreyDonkey :D.

That's really good new PS :D

Thank you :). I am mightily relieved . . . I don't normally overreact when he's not right, but I've not seen anything quite like that before . . . poor boy was just so sore in so many places.

Thanks again :).

Wonderful! Did you get to the bottom of what it was? Sorry if I missed you post.

Playing detective, we think he tweaked himself in the field initially which would account for the soreness/swelling in his hocks, but then living out made everything worse because he just wasn't settling . . . one of his (two) fieldmates (who is also field boss) was away for a week and most of the other horses come in at night, so Kal just wasn't resting/relaxing. I gave him bute and cold hosed his hocks until they were better and then when I could brought him for a couple of nights to get some decent kip/relax and it made all the difference.

I did wonder if he had tied up a little . . . but I am very pleased that he has come right again.
