It looks like my black greyhound Simba (8 this year) may have kidney problems.

He has been losing weight for a while now nothing dramatic but now starting to look a bit thin. We changed his diet, then had a tooth out as was worried that may not have been helping, bloods checked and fairly normal for a greyhound but urine test has shown protein in the urine. Now have sent the sample to the lab for more detailed anaylsis but looks most likely the kidneys are failing. As far as I can gather there is not a huge amount of treatment options available but I was wondering if anyone had any success stories with alternative treatments that may be worth trying?

At the moment he is very well in himself but I want to give him the best chance I can - he is a bit special.

Definately worth trying silverliningherbs ( if you remember they finally sorted out Tilly's Boysie) and maybe Bowen therapy as well as that has amazing results on the organs sometimes.

Sorry no experience but wanted to say (((hugs)))) for Simba
