Or any other dog really.

Scoobie chatters his teeth and I know its greyhound trait but he really chatters his teeth, over well everything (food, fuss, walkies time etc) and now he is wearing his cone its amplified so I now have an extra loud chattering greyhound following me about

Does anyone elses dog chatter his/hers teeth?
I ask other greyhound owners and they look at Scoobs and I as if we have gone mad.

Or is Scoobie just weird? thats also quite a strong possibility!

having worked with greyhounds for 20 years i can say the only time I've noticed the chattering as you describe is by a male dog after he's sniffed/licked bitch urine.
apparently 'tasting'
sorry if your now feeling a little queasy !

lol thanks for that! its interesting though because he isn't around many bitches person to person! He does taste things however on a walk, usually scent markings I think but sometimes they aren't even visible to me what hes tasting but it is gross!

Our old JRT Chaz used to chatter his teeth really badly - he was ancient though, he must have been in his teens when we got him from the rescue centre and we had him for a good few years. Now we have another JRT, Poppy, and she's started doing it too as she gets older. She's eight now, and she's been doing it for maybe a year. She does it when she's cold, excited and for no apparent reason.

We don't know why they've both done this... I just put it down to weird little terriers being weird.

I have owned, and fostered, loads of GH's, only 2 that I can think of did the teeth chattering thing. One was my bitch, and the other was a HUGE black dog (castrated) called Panther.

My Bouvier/hound (castrated) dog does it too, usually he grabs hold of my hand and 'chatters' then, but he'll do it at other times.
