October 2016 (5 years old) to April 2019 (rising 8 years old). This season we will be mostly wearing light dapple grey. And poo stains. Which can no longer be hidden. Darn it. Unless the picture is made black and white. Her back grew about a foot longer too! lol. Maybe not a foot... but at least 3 inches.

Just an excuse to post pictures really.

Show us your greying out greys!

I've not really noticed how much change there's been between 18 and 22 before! He's much whiter now when you compare those photos. I think once they go beyond a certain point you stop looking! I must take photos of the non digital photos I have of him between 2 and 12 too. The first two were sent to us by his breeder when she tracked us down.

Love seeing the progression of the greys!

Overload coming up! Don't have anything of him before approx 5yo, but have 13 years of grey/white.
His sales photo / First winter (2006-2007) / Summer 2007 - dark knees!
More Summer 2007 / Autumn 2008

Autumn 2009 / Winter 2010 - still some colour on the knees / Summer 2011 - still there
Summer 2012 - almost all white / Summer 2013 - all white

Just for fun - turned dark grey last year...

And the reason he's rarely actually white...

Edit: fixed it so there aren't loads of links.

Lovely greys. Do you think the covering themselves in mud is like us using antiwrinkle cream? Trying to reclaim their youth? Lol

I'm going back to the computer to get pics of Granny horse too.

Mine is convinced of the benefits of a good mud bath anyway!! Either that or he's trying to rediscover his inner chestnut!

I have 40 shades of grey on my place - and it used to be more than 60, lol.

This is one of my stallions as a foal - whose father was dark bay at 17 - so I lived in hope
.

Buck.jpg

Much darker at backing - at 4

Pure Arrogance - backing.jpg

The first clue was when he was 7 - a foal by him out f a chestnut mare was definitely grey.

Now he's 11 - still not showing the dirt too badly.

Gorgeous. I love a grey thoroughbred. So elegant.

I wish The Beast had stayed darker, longer JanetGeorge! I feel like I haven't had long enough not having to sponge off poo stains! lol

Diva's daughter. Few hours old, few days, long yearling, five year old. (She's eeGgLPlpPATN1patn1 for the colour genetics peeps!) Her colt is greying out too I think but I don't have any photos of him that show the change.

These are all really impressive! And sad, I love a dark grey.

I don't have too many as I have no young photos but here he is as a gangly 5/6 year old (sent from previous owners)

Then the day I got him

This time last year

Then this I took yesterday

His legs are slowly getting lighter!

He definitely is less chubby than he was though...
