My dear old chap is nearly white and the winter is a nightmare. Unless he is covered with a hood that shows only his eyeballs and an all embracing rug he is perpectually filthy. That doesn't protect his legs or tail though. I think we should have special mention! Dont they look beautiful when they are clean though!

*Smug post warning*

My grey (who is still a little roany) can stay out in a swampy field and be sparkling clean...

My grey cob seems to repel dirt quite easily.

She rolls in mud but it just dusts out with a flicker brush. Quick hose of her legs and wrap them in her stable wraps (thanks to Theresa_F who sent them to me last year), and she's clean and white again in the morning!

Yes they do, if I put Axels neck cover on to turn him out he gets his head and legs especially dirty to make up for it!

He's not quite white yet, he's gone really lovely dappley, but his face his now almost completely white and I can't see his blaze anymore.

Thumper has gone much lighter since I bought him in the summer - and actually stays pretty clean

Apart from his face, which usually sports a funky little green patch over one eye!

He just looks spectacular to me, and is all 'shiny' and 'bright'. If that makes sense.

My grey has eight acres of grass to lie in, and she ALWAYS lies in poo. Maybe it's warmer?

When she's clean though, she's VERY clean and I feel very proud that I cleaned her myself! Although I was always jealous of my friend's grey, as he has a sort of shiny shimmery quality to his coat. Even when he's dirty!
And my share horse is also grey... he's rather "ick" at the moment

My grey likes to use a poo for a pillow in her stable each night. Thank the lord for cowboy magic green spot remover! Once that's cleaned off though she's pretty sparkly. Unlike her green, brown and white next door neighbour!

My grey old boy looks lovely in summer and stands out from the others in the field, but in winter he is nearly the same as my bay, and his poor legs are always so so dirty, but I did invest in some tailbags last year, which did a brilliant job of keeping his tail sparkling.........

my grey mare loves a good wallow and often comes in with black legs and belly after galloping up the field through the swampy bit. Lovely. Don't even start me on her tail - it is too upsetting!

Mine gets her face a bit dirty but her legs are usually ok and her rug protects the rest. She has a neck cover too. She's fully clipped so she doesn't take much brushing at all.

Can I join - I have five of the b*gg*ers

Actually only one of them is a real pooo magnet LLuna (should be called Poona!) if there is the smallest pile of poo, Lluna can be guaranteed to lie in it, I reckon that sherubs hers head along the floor to make sure that her EARS have as much coverage as her actual face
