Took the morning off work today to ride - it was lovely
Put them all back in their respective paddocks. Bare paddock for baby bear (Shetland ), medium grassy paddock for mummy bear (plump Welsh Cob) and lots of grassy paddock for daddy bear (skinny Welsh Cob).
Get home from work tonight and skinny cob is in with Shetland - erm.......
And Plump is in shetland's extra bare paddock....erm.....
So... go for a walk down field. Hang on, I know my torch is crap, but where's the fence gone?
Oh look - there it is, lying on the ground. All 75 metres of it. Each fence post lovingly snapped off near ground level so it's now a spear
Let me guess......
Skinny Welsh cob who normally jumps in with plump Welsh Cob, got scared, because a tree rustled, or the wind blew, right when she was standing by the fence.
And without any thought - she attempted to jump it. Over the 3 strands of electric rope.
One at 1 ft so Shetland doesn't get under it. One at 3ft so Plump doesn't climb through, and one at 5ft high to stop Skinny jumping out ...... but like the stable door incident earlier in the year, she thought she should take a punt and leap. Oh dear, didn't make it. Got caught. Wrecked the lot.
Must've terrified her and the others. One fence post snapping sounds like a shot being fired, 20+ must've been a terrific noise.
I'm so glad she hasn't hurt herself or the others.
My horse is an idiot
