Been and done a clear round since breaking my leg, but, as you can imagine, very nervous. So inspired by watching Tim Stockdale last night, persuaded one of the girls from the yard to help set up a grid, (then her mum put the poles up for us!!)

What a difference it made to my confidence having strided poles!! I jumped a two strided double with the second part 85cm, very confidently - 3 times! May excelled herself, no bouncing, pulling, running off, she was great! Think the for Sale ad is going in the bin!

Edited to add, and really enjoyed it!

Good to hear you're getting back into it. Your confidence is bound to be a little suspect to start with but doing this kind of work can only increase your's & your horse's confidence. Keep it up & good luck.

I am a great fan of gridwork and often work my lessons through a variety of grids- it improves postion and the horse no end. It is also an ideal way of gaining confidence over a bigger fence as as long as the grid is set out correctly the striding should be right.

Aww thats great news Lisa

Grids are such fun, and do give confidence. There was a time I would happily jump down a grid with a 1.40m oxer at the end but had kittens about jumping a 90cm upright in the middle of the arean

When I borrowed the Tim vids from Weezy, i really found this helped my confidence! he made everything sound far more simple and in a language I understood.

LMAO about the For Sale ad, YO threatens winston with the transfer list if hes naughty, and its suprising how quickly he bucks up his ideas lol
