Every year at around about this time, when my share horse is at his leanest, we have a few saddle issues as his saddle is a bit wide for him. In the past we've had it altered, only to find that within a few weeks of spring grass he's back to his old shape and it's now too tight
.
I know it's not ideal but rather than having his saddle altered twice in the space of a few weeks, I've been trying to find a way of padding the saddle out a bit for a few weeks and during my reasearch have found the Griffin Nuumed High Wither Pro Pad Plus, which has extra padding that follows the contours od the saddle but doesn't add extra bulk over the wither or under the legs. It looks like it could help, does anybody have any experience of them and know whether they're any good?
And next question... Does anybody know where to find one (the numnah version) without having to take out a second mortgage? £70 for a numnah, without any sheepskin in sight
