My horse played up in the arena, she jumped about after a some box-rest in December following some mud-fever, and the result was me straining my groin. With the groin strain and huge work commitments I didnt ride for 3-months, I started riding a few weeks ago and my groin really hurts still. I Used to school, jump, XC, hunt and now I can just about manage a steady hack. Has anyone had a riding-induced groin strain? Any tips for a speedy recovery? I was thinking of putting my mare in foal and turning her away if the groin doesn't improve soon.

Taking some time to heal sounds like a good idea to me! And a baby might be fun! If I was hurting like you seem to be i would go and see my massage lady who puts my neck back when that hurts. i put up with that for ages until I had it seen to by this lady. Now any little twing and I am off to see her. Worth every penny, not that it costs that much. She is a sports massage person, doesn't hurt at all, strains would be something they could work on. They do say as well strains can be worst then breaks. i do hope you feel better soon.

I've had it several times, but mine has been quite quick to heal and most times I've just had a few days off and then started riding gently and avoiding using that leg too much. I always get it on the right side. Sounds like you need some more time off to give it a chance to heal properly. Poor you, hope you're on the mend soon.

My horse decided to start bronking in the arena one day, it took about 4 months before I could ride properly again. The pain was awfull every time I got in the saddle.
Plenty of rest
