Groodles!

Actually, our dog is an even more exclusive designer breed: he is a 'No-idea-what cross'. Or maybe even a 'Could-be-anything-in-there'. At the moment he is a 'Fast-asleep-in-his-cave-under-the-piano' dog. :D

More 'designer breeds' here. The mind boggles...

WOW- we have the same X only I refer to mine as "mongrel".... or currently ginger fat pants sitting on the back of the sofa watching the world go by, with minimal barking!

Hang about...

"Cavadors

Cavalier King Charles male X Labrador

By mating one of the most popular small-breed males with one of the popular large-breed females (with the help of TCI insemination) we have produced a designer puppy we call a Cavador.

This breed will be a medium-sized, short/medium coated, active, friendly family pet that will suit most families. They average 55cm and 22kg fully grown. They have the playful side of a labrador whilst being smaller and easier to handle. The cute floppy ears and gentler nature comes from the cocker spaniel."

Where the fluff has the cocker spaniel come from?!

Well I have given up now Teal is a springador. Even the gun folk round here are calling these crosses springadors...... he is a springer stuck in a labradors body to be fair.

I had a Springador and a Spollie 30yrs ago they can from the same litter of 10 'usless puppies' (bitches owners words not mine) and were free! :)

Owners pedigree ESS bitch had got out when in season and looked like she had probably been got by both of a neighbors dogs (half short coated white and black and half big black and hairy).

LOL how much would the 'sell' for these days! :)

And I always thought I owned a skinny mongrel ;) So a whippet crossed with a collie must be a - Wollie? Chippet? Specially bred to retrieve and destroy those stray toast crumbs, no matter where they fall!

LOL yep!

"Its a pedigree, both its parents were" erm yes but its parents are different frigging breeds, making your a mongrel....... "sulk"

But you'd be ostracised for saying that on a certain dog forum! There's even a sticky saying you can't criticise cross breeds  (but it's ok to slag off pedigrees!)

Edit: I am actually scared at the look of the beagliers! And spanatrievers?! Seriously?! LMAO!

Yes THAT is totally nuts-

"do not upset the wallys that paid £100's for their mongrel, but feel free to slate those who sourced their pedigree pups responsibly"

From a different perspective, we took Pickle the Lancashire Heeler pup, to a village show yesterday. He got loads of attention (which he took in his stride) and people asking if he was a JRT, dachshund and various other breeds. I am damn sure that one or two people when I said what breed he was thought he was a designer cross, you could just tell from the look on their faces !'

And yes lexie, it really does p*** me off how people who buy, or breed, well bred pedigree puppies are beginning to be seen as the baddies nowadays.

It does p me off too with the designer breeds and the fact they sell their pups for more than a pedigree in some cases.

I cant believe how stupid the general public are at swallowing the spiel these breeders spout about their puppies.

Perhaps pedigree breeders need to look at the marketing of their puppies with the emphasis on health and temperment and a guarantee that you at least know what your puppy will look like when it grows up.

Well by that measure we have a SprollieJack and a Jollie (Jack Russell x Border Collie) . . . both accidents, both rejects/rescues (Daisy our SprollieJack) was turned into the dog pound when only 6 weeks old - can you say "pie-key dog?" . . .

However, a friend of mine has a poodle x shih tzu . . . so is that a sh&* poo?

P

P.S. He's very cute.

I've got a Jack Bassett, or to be really smart perhaps a Parsons Jack Bassett:D:D He's a dog of two very distinct parts - front part bassett (including VERY bandy legs) and rear end JRT. Don't quite know how I came to acquire him as I've never been a fan of JRTs !! The moral is, never look at dog rescue sites
