Grooming...pain?

My horse is currently on box rest after being diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his stifle.

Today he was kicking out when I brushed anywhere near his stifle area. Normally he is fine to groom.

I'm guessing he is in pain.

Not sure why I posted really, other than feeling sorry for him and myself.
