Hi there, I really want to build up my bond with my horse and show him I am in charge all the time! As that will help with riding as well. I want him to trust me more ect ect..

I was wandering if you clever people could give me any ground exercises to do to show him I am the boss!... Lots of detail on how you do them would be great ;)
hes a very forward, strong, fizzy horse who does not have very good manners..

He is new to me, I need to show him I am in charge now! Before it becomes to late..

*please excuse the bad grammar, am very tired and can not think properly!

thank you! X

I've been reading Joe Camps books recently - they're really insightful.
Backing up is the best place to start with groundwork apparently...
Worth reading "Why Relationship First Works" prior to groundwork though...

“Who Moves Who

Assume the predator stance. Swell up like a balloon. Eyes wide. Eyebrows up. Be a horse. A leader horse.
Now shake that lead rope and wag your finger at the same time.
“Back up! Back up!”
Some say that horses are not verbal so it’s best not to give them verbal orders. Restrict the teaching to body language.
I say use everything you’ve got, especially in the beginning”

Before you go any further get rid of the idea that you are 'in charge' of him or 'the boss' of him. Show him a little respect, work TOGETHER and I guarantee you will have a long and happy partnership. If you don't respect him why should he respect you? To change him, change your own attitude and your way of thinking, he will never trust you if you continue with the attitude you currently have, and I mean that in the nicest possible way.
