As the title says really...
I'm 5 1/2 months pregnant and the time has come to stop riding. I still feel fit and well but I had a little spill from my girl (15'3 TB mare, 22 yrs old) which made me reassess my priorities.
So my question is - does anyone have any good ideas for groundwork to keep her fit and mentally stimulated until I can get back on board? She lives out 24/7 with her own little herd so is quite happy most of the time, but does like to work still. My RI has agreed to ride her a few times a month to help keep her in tune, but I am concerned that just lungeing is gong to get very dull for both of us fairly quickly. I've had a look at some of the groundwork games by Linda Tellington-Jones (backing up through an L-Shape, going through a labyrinth, a raised fan of poles) and I'm wondering if anyone else has used these in a similar situation and what kind of effect they felt it had on their horse.
Thanks!

Why not have a really good think about any little behavioural things that could be better/useful and then clicker train them - it is mentally stiumulating for the horse and not too physically onerous on the rider ....

For example,

Pointing at each hoof and for the horse to pick it up for cleaning (promise you will have a bad back for at least some of the while with a little person around!)

Spanish steps

Lowering head (to put on bridle)
etc, etc

Possibilities are endless!

Good luck

Oooo clicker training sounds good!
I am 7 months pregnant and struggling to pick out feet and reach up to put headcollars on. Are there any books that show you how?
