I know there is a post in veterinary about a wither rub, but this is slightly different.

When I bought my boy he had a rub on the point of his withers from an ill-fitting rug which has never broken the skin but has turned the skin white and bald. Now he has properly fitting rugs they shouldn't be rubbing, but any ideas how I get the bald patch to grow over? Is there anything I can put on it? Thanks

If the rub has killed the follicles it won't grow back - my lad got a pressure sore when he was fully bandaged after stitches - bandage slipped and within 3 hrs he had a pressure sore on his Pissiform and the hair has never grown back regardless of what is put on it.

ALoe Vera I have found is the best for getting hair to come through

- really hope the follicles haven't died but suspect they might have - will keep my fingers crossed, it just looks so horrible but I know it doesn't really matter to him.

Have invested in brand new saddle (he also has saddle rub marks where the back of the saddle would sit near the loin), NuMed high wither numnah etc so hopefully won't get these sort of problems in the future!

Cairo had this - now has hair back thanks to megatek rebuilder and I have also got him a blossy bib.

The megatek is very good - Cairo has a full length mane for the first time since he had chemo - over 10 years ago.

my 4yr old mare had this and it rubbed so bad that it started to rub the skin sore, so i bort one of those anti-rub vests that coverd her chest and her neck it has worked a treat!!

Cornucrescine is a waste of time. Megatek is the only thing we have tried that makes a difference. Our horses now have no shoulder rubs and full manes (apart from the cobs, of course!)

Can I get Megatek from any saddlers etc? Haven't come across that one before. I have got an aloe vera plant so was going to sacrifice that to try and encourage hair growth, but I rather like the plant so would rather not chop it to bits!

Debbie is great - when I wanted mane bags, we worked together to come up with a great product. Everything she sells is great - I personally couldn't survive now without mane and tail bags, megatek - which is on offer at the moment (just bought 2) and the survivor detangler.

We are now working together to produce leg bags for feathered horses - first prototype in production as I speak.

Megatek is also great on your nails - I have good nails now - better than I ever had.
