my horse has had to have a bone scan to try and find out what is making him lame, so my insurance company asked for a proforma, which we did and it was approved, so i sent my horse for the bone scan (infact he's in the room as we speak) anyway i got a letter today saying they were unable to proceed with the proforma as they need more info and my policy is upfor renewal soon, i'm so angry as i might be left with a 1000 bill which i told the insurance company i could afford (hence the need for the proforma) have rung them and waiting for them to ring me back

sorry for the rant

Surely like you say, the proforma was approved? By them approving it thats the 'Green Light'. Cant your vet have a word with them? what other information do they need? Who is your insurance company? (please don't say E&L!)
I think that the most that you would pay is your excess anyway?

i have already paid the excess, as i have claimed for £1500 (he is insured for £5000) and no its not e and l i'd rather not say until i have sorted it out.

If they approved it (and you have this in writing) then I don't see that they can change their mind at this stage.

yer i have it in writing i have been very organised and kept all the things to do with the insurance and claims in a box.

still waiting for a call i rung them over an hour ago should i ring them again?

Yep, I'm afraid I would ring them back with the letter in front of me - ready for action.

I am sure it would be covered, if you have the cover for this in place and it was agreed by them then i wouldn't not worry unduly they may just be wanting some additional information. Do you know what additional info they require?

They would be very hard pressed to go back on a decision they have already agreed to. There could just bea mix up at their end.

Give them a call, remain calm and don't just assume they're trying to back out. You have the agreement in writing as you said so just find out what info they want and send it to them.

right i have spoken to them and they are happy to pay

and its because my insurance was up for renewal. i just wish they had made that clear in the letter, even my oh read it the same way i did.
