I got to the yard last night, brought my two in and then started grooming Grace to ride... to find several cuts on the insides of her legs. Washed them, applied cream (they were sore) and then tacked up and had a good session on her in the school.

This morning her legs are not swollen, the cuts are healing nicely and it was still a mystery what had happened.

Went to muck Hannah out (the in foal mare) and found she was sporting a huge swelling under her neck where she had been kicked - there's a graze mark, but nothing too drastic. Got her out of her stable and through the mud I could see two bite marks on her bottom and another cut on her hock!

So, it looks as though the two of them have had a disagreement (there was another pony out with them, so it could have been all three having an argument) and the are both looking very sorry for themselves. But they were stood together munching away whenI went to get them in at 4.30pm so hopefully they have sorted out their differences!

I am surprised, because Grace usually runs at the first sign of trouble!

Thanks... they both seem it. Hannah's lump is huge on the underside of her neck, so might see how it is tonight as to whether she should have the vet look at it or not. The one on her hock has made it swell a little but I have put some antibiotic cream on it and washed it thoroughly I hope!
