Just had a call from the woman who owns the yard that I rent - apparently my mare escaped this morning (jumped the fence!!) As this is a decent 4ft fence that was quite a feat, plus she is due to foal in March/April! Anyway, the other mare she was out with decided she would also try, but took the top rail off
They can only 'escape' onto parkland and arable land, so no harm done, and they were caught quickly enough. All this because I restricted their grazing due to a laminitis scare a month ago! It looks like muzzles will have to go back on and they'll be back out on the parkland
Lucky the yard-owner is horse-savvy and caught them for me, as I work an hour and a half away!
