Just for clarifcation of my own mind before I go insane!
Last night me and a fellow livery got to the yard about 8.30pm (due to shift work) and started mucking out etc. I went round the corner and another liveries horse was looking very uncomfortable - kicking at belly, severe scouring etc etc. Looked to be mild colic although no sweating. Rang owner and she came down, we left at that point.
Today we asked livery how the horse was. He's fine, but apparently doesn't like being 'disturbed' at night - a direct comment to us as we have to turn the lights on when we get there to muck out and whatnot and we've already had comments because we are often there later and have to turn the lights on.
Apparently he's an old man and likes his routine and to not be 'woken up'.
Really? Can turning a light on cause what seemed to be mild colic, or scouring at the very least?!
Frustrated to say the least!
