Had the saddler out this morning (I wasn't there) and he's doen a bit of restuffing to fit Spark's current saddle to her but has said that by January she'll have filled out further and is going to need to move up a width

She's only had this saddle (which I love!) for about a year now..but it's a narrow and sicne we've started to do more flat schooling and she is in a consistent outline her back and withers have really been muscled up.

I currently have her in a narrow 17" Stubben Siegfried VSD special order short flap (She's 17hh and I'm only 5'2" which makes us a bitch to try and fit!). I have a Hennig Sofa titanium which I'm concidering having fitted to her BUT it's an 18" seat which although she could take isn't the best for me. I love Albions & Stubbens (very different seats but v.similar twists)...so what to do? Adjust the Hennig? Try and part trade my Stubben for another Stubben or a Albion? Look at another brand completely?

Guess you'll have to bite the bullet and just swap your saddle for a more suitbale one at the time. My old horse I used to have 2 saddles for the different seasons - wide for summer and narrow for winter when he dropped weight and condition

well I guess the saddler knows you and sparks well so I'djust ask him to keep any eye out for a new one that he thinks will suit you both between now and then.

I'd like to know who the saddler is as well... Not the fellow in Goodwins is it? How much do they charge?

I've heard a lot of great things about the WOW saddles, not sure if you can get em in Ireland though.

Just out of interest - why are treeless not so good for hunting?? I hunt in mine - seems ok but then I may be missing something?

What kind of country are you in? We're up and down mountains and jump BIG ditches..treeless saddles don't seem stable enough for that

Love my cliff barnasby (8yrs old) and have ideal saddles in the past that i've really liked. Won't touch a certain Irish saddle (every tack room in Ireland has at least one!).

Deavcoux, ideal, cliff barnsby are my favourite

Saddle Co saddles are supposed to be great as well, again I dont know if you can get em here!
I have heard of people hunting in the fhoenix and the ansur konklusion, but I havent seen anyone riding at all in one in Ireland. I'd love to try those two out myself, but they're very expensive.

I have a thorowgood maxam, and a ryknild VSD. Would love to get a synthetic jumping saddle for hunting in. They're pretty handy.
