On our way home from the field, the roads were so terrible that we had to abandon our car in the local sainsburys and walk home  I'm regretting saying that I wanted it to snow earlier

However, it does make everywhere look ever so pretty :)

Has anyone else got snow?

Nicole :)

Yep- we have snow in Staffs but luckily I have a 4 x 4 so can still get around ok! However arena eventing competition tomorrow is cancelled and also the pony club presentation tonight so not happy with having snow! Just glad we went out for a hack this morning:)

I've just got the all clear to ride my pony this week and now he'll be stuck in. No snow yet but it's going to hit overnight.

I don't want it to snow tonight because my lesson is in the morning and I only have an outdoor school. However, I would really like a snow day from school on Monday because I've a lot of things I could be catching up on.
Talk about having your cake and eating it.

I have to do road work and nothing will make me ride in snow and possible ice on the snow even if simply cos te drivers might slide into us.
I do have a field I can go round but have always foun the snow balls up and pony ends up on stilts tottering dangerously. Also it balls up with turnout, am I alone?!

It's snowing lots in north Leeds, horrific drive back from harrogate tonight on untreated main roads that took an age. So pleased to be home safely.

Its snowing here in Reading & its awful. Me & my oh have been out & a taxi just skimmed the side of my oh's truck & gone straight into a brick wall

I have managed to persuade him to take me to the stables in the morning as my car won't get there (although he doesn't no he will have to do the afternoon ;))

Snowed in N Dorset this afternoon, settled a but when there was about 30 minutes of big flakes. Turned to rain - and much to my shock there is a layer of ice under the wet. Lethal to walk on, just glad I am not driving anywhere.

Yep started here about 4pm but wasnt that thick until about 10...horses ok and no long walk for me because they are basically at the end of my garden but the dog was too scared of it to go outside (that was until i shoved her out the door:D) and OH has had to go and fetch the night lamber which he could do without!

Yes all in but the electrics keep tripping everytime you put the kettle on because of all the heat lamps! The stupid dog is outside howling at the bushes in the garden because they look funny and she's the biggest wus out she'd be a nightmare if she was a horse she's scared of everything in fact she reminds me a bit of my old one when he was younger :D

Hope everyone is alright. Enjoy your snow.

My OH looked at your photos and said "Hmmph...it isn't even hoof deep! What's the fuss all about?" :(

I am well and truly peed off (and a wee bit jealous) because we've had a pathetic amount of snow this winter and I love the stuff.

Yep we got a good dump last night in Derbys. Put my lad out this morning as usual and he just wandered down to the strip grazed new bit and started shovelling and eating! Will take pics later but won't do anything in terms of riding...no point in this. Farrier was suposed to be here today but I spoke to him last night and he said forget it...which is fair enough as I would not risk a slip anyway. He is fine and better off in his field nibbling snowy grass.

Well when I stopped looking last night we had 7 inch of snow, the drive is half a mile long and that is deep enough to beach the cars so if I want to go anywhere I'm going to have to dig thr drive out again (Did it last year, took 2 days!).

Horses are a short walk away and I can see them looking unimpressed just out the window! may go clear a corner of their field first and put some more hay down.

It might be a working from home day tomorrow then!

If you put vaseline on the underneath of the hoof it stops it sticking and balling up ;)
