About 3 weeks ago I bought my cob a new saddle (from a saddle fitter) - T4 cob to replace his cob plus as he has slimmed down. When I first tried it I didn't think it was "right" and felt he was unhappy in it however was convinced other-wise by sadle fitter.

Rode twice in it, he was definitely not happy in it, emailed saddle fitter and told her the same and as she was due on yard the next week arranged for her to check it.

When she came out again I wasn't convinced although he seemed a wee bit happier however was made to feel like it was "in my head" by both saddle fitter and bowen therapist who I had out at same time. I'm not good at complaining / being assertive in such circumstances so decided to give it a go and thought perhaps his problems were due to EPSM.

I've not ridden him since, today I was lucky enough to have the lovely Poohsmate (from NR) out to see my boys. As soon as he saw the saddle he kindly pointed out that the panels were completely different sizes / shapes .....I'm really angry! I know I should have probably noticed but tbh we pay people to advise us etc and it is increasingly feeling like lots of horsey businesses just take the p!s5!

Here's hoping for a prompt refund

I could write a book on saddle fitting - the bain of my life trying to find a saddle that fits a 17.2 high withered warmblood that also fits me too. My saddle as we speak is in the saddlery having knee rolls added to it to solve this problem and a replacement stirrup bar. Was meant to take 4 days to do, two weeks later still no saddle.....

I am another moron taken in by this womans "professional" advice. I didn't buy my saddle from her but did have her to fit it. Guess what? It doesn't fit properly. Thankfully can be sorted fairly easily (and cheaply).
Whilst I am all for educating myself so I know what to look for there are limits and besides what else do we pay these people for but their "expert" opinion.
Thankfully I have only been riding in this saddle for 3 weeks and not doing very much at all. So the damage is limited.
Moral of the story ......always trust your instincts.
Another livery victim to this saddle fitter was thinking she was going mad....she wasn't it was the bloody saddle.

Out of the 4 saddles she fitted
3 were bought off her, all were the same as dilberts, different panels not sitting straight.
1 was bought elsewhere but fitted by her.

100% failure rate. Not impressive is it.
