It has been several years I have had to deal with mud fever, tell me your tried and tested treatments !?

Horse lives out 24/7, no option to bring in, little to none hard standing, big cob cross with lots of feather. I will not clip feathers !!! Currently only on off fore.

Cheers

IV Horse MFP ( Four Horse Mud Fever Prevention) ... excellent stuff . Liquid paraffin , lanolin and tea tree oil . So natural stuff , lanolin and the liquid paraffin keeps the skin supple and breathable and the tea tree for infections etc . Only need it every other day or as and when nec . No need to clip hair . Use a syringe barrel to squirt stuff thru the hair to get to the skin. Put on dry legs if poss to start with .
