PUTS RUGS ON HORSES THAT ARE TOO BIG AND DONT FIT?!
Twice this week I have had to put a rug back on a pony that had it hanging rounds its neck cos it was blatently too big for him?!!?! Can't people see how dangerous it is to do this? If you really have absolutely no other rug whatsoever and no money (in which case having a horse isn't really a clever idea), then for god sake find a way to secure it! I have absolutely no idea how ths horse didn't trip up!!

(I'm not a troll - For those that don't know who I am, I do have another account but had to create a new one due to some stirring that would arise should certain people recognise me!
I have Twix the black rescue mare, and now have Casey the coloured on full loan. Will post pictures in picture gallery for you all to recognise me....)

Sorry my fault - FLY rugs!

Do apologise lol, I didn't word it great, but the other day here it was pouring down and said pony had a turnout on which is fair enough

Mine dont wear rugs this time of year atall even in the rain, unless its horrendous and cold at the same time. Or like my rescue mare, I don't risk her dropping any weight as she really can't afford to so I rug her. But I always always make sure my rugs fit perfectly, its far far too dangerous to put a rug on a horse that is too big!

I don't know why people put flyrugs on - full stop. Every horse I see wearing one is still shaking its head, stamping its feet and kicking and swishing its belly because the rugs don't cover most of the places where flies like to bite. My girl gets sprayed from head to tail twice daily with cheap and cheeful home made fly repellent with a little commercial product to add extra oomph, and its really obvious who is more comfortable when I put her back in the field with the others. Its doubly obvious when they hang around her to use her as a fly-whisk to try to give themselves some second-hand relief. The only bit of her that is physically covered is her face and ears because the flies bite inside them and drive her nuts.

My new loan boy has to have a fly rug on because he has sarcoids and the rug covers these in places stopping them from being potentially open wounds. He also gets sprayed head to toe in fly spray , I DO see the point in fly rugs providing they fit correctly, you can get some nice fly rugs that cover almost head to toe.

EPIC FAIL

You made a new identity because you've posted stuff that's upsetting people who know you and you don't want the two connected. So your last post on the "old" account and just about the first on the new account both give your horse's names. Sweetie anyone who wants to find you will search the horse's names.

If you really want to stay anonymous ditch this account and FGS DON'T post pics "for you all to recognise me".

I disagree. My mare is very happy with her fly rug on and it also helps her to keep cool in the warm weather.
I've found that no matter how strong a fly repellent is it needs applying at regular intervals.

My boy has to wear a fly rug too, as being a tb his skin is very sensitive and they really irritate him, no matter how much fly spray is used. He gets all covered in lumps without one on and it drives him insane, galloping around. With one on, yeah he swishes his tail but enjoys his time out in the field, with no lumps!

I agree I shouldnt have put horses name but it was hardly an epic fail, and I didnt put something that would ''upset'' someone for the wrong reasons, your making me sound as if I have purposely tried to upset someone then cant face the consequences, and thats not me.

This also has nothing to do with the topic about rugs - There isnt a need to get nasty. Unless of course you know me personally and feel I am very much inthe wrong? Enlighten me.

Myb boys fly rug has a UV thingy, so helps keep some of the rays off. He gets sprayed in fly spray, and is a happy chappy.

R.e the unfitting rugs, I just got my boy, and a few days after it hooned it down with rain, his light weight was ordered and in the post, so had a 6'3'' spare rug chucked on him, so there is a reason some people were rugs that dont fit. Although, have to admit, it was fully fastened, and didnt slip at all [=

No I certainly don't know you personally and my comment was not intended nastily. I'm only going by what you said last time.

It's just somewhat frustrating when someone has posted about how to close an account and get posts deleted, been given advice by various people and then just utterly ignores it!

This, I thought it strange also!

I recon its a troll thats a little bit special...

Personally I don't think she is a troll, just someone who hasn't really understood how things work, nor how persistent some people can be when they want to find out about someone. These somewhat odd postings might stir someone up to have a good old dig around then stir things for her, which is a shame and so easily avoidable.

However I shall butt out now and let her get on with it.

Ahh the old rug debate - every year the same thing - "people who put rugs on are cruel" " people who don't rug are cruel"...

Who cares

For god's sake, live and let live, i'm sure people use fly rugs etc. with the best of intentions, and as for not having horses if you can't afford the appropriate rugs, a bit unjust don't you think.

Troll lol - is that the only word you know?!

And secondly I didnt ignore it, I got hoards of inbox messages with peoples advice saying they had just remade a new one as H&H rules say they dont suggest making multiples but have nothing against it. ACTUALLY.

As for rugs - bothers me not who uses and doesnt use, and what they do and dont use, it bothers me when they put a horse in a rug thats blatently way way to big and could cause alot of damage - thats clearly negligent?

I guess I didnt think it through properly, and also didnt think about how people might search names etc- so thats my mistake but it doesnt make me a troll!

Its no wonder people are frightened to post on this forum - I shant be posting again, it annoys me far too much that accusations can be made so fast- yet all I wanted to do was have a rant because something annoyed me and I wondered if others felt the same.

If it bothers you that much then speak to the people invloved and try to explain to them how dangerous you think it could be if their horses got tangled up in these rugs, and that you're not prepared to keep straightening their rugs out for them in fear of an accident happening, i don't think all replies accused you of being a troll!!

ACTUALLY I didn't call you a troll and indeed rebutted the idea.

ACTUALLY I was, IIRC, the first person to suggest you just make a new account, I also pointed out that you might want to edit out your statement that you wanted to make a new account and then the one detailing the horses you owned/loaned.

ACTUALLY before you post any more pictures you might want to make a new photobucket account as well, as your current one appears to have your name on it. Not so good for anonimity.

So ACTUALLY you might have wanted to thank me for my help to get you out of your fix, rather than going on the attack but ACTUALLY I don't really care, if you get backlash from whatever it was you posted, and I don't care enough to find out what it was, then it doesn't ACTUALLY affect me in any way.

Bye

The people on your yard must LOVE you.

I Also saw the ''my horses are casey and twix but i want to stay anonymous so im setting up a new account'' and if i can remember wo you are, literally from skimming your thread, then the people you are bitching about ceratinly will. I suggest if you want casey and twix to stay at their yard, you wind your neck in a bit!
