1.40am

I had been asleep for an hour and dreamt I heard pounding hooves in my garden, and much whinnying and neighing. Not dreaming.

Blasted tarty mare (Boarder) had escaped from her paddock, I walked it with a torch, no broken fence, field mate asleep in the corner, so she must have jumped out. Damn horse came into season, or false season, almost as soon as the colt arrived and decided she wanted nooky, Now! In the middle of the night!

So there I am, woozy with sleep (lack of) in a dressing gown and flip flops trying to catch a randy horse racing around my garden in the dark, we have pretty stars tonight by the way. I did finally corner her in one of the walkways and she is now cooling her heels in the stable, with the barn door shut. Judging from the bangs that came from there for the first few minutes she was having a mega paddy.

I am now very awake and very grumpy.

Good Morning all, I hope your day started off better than mine has.

This is the culprit, the slapper.

Must be annoying but how lucky you are for your horse to be able to escape into your garden!!! I wouldn't care if mine did it every night if it meant they were at home!!!!!!!

Must be the night for it. Our ancient laminitic 12.2 got off the yard last night straight into the garden where he bucked, farted and galloped round chasing the dogs and jumping the paths. This is the pony that is retired as he is nearly 40!

Tee hee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donkey carts me over to the next door yard so she can visit her lover DC, an 18 year old gelding
