GRRRRRRRRRR! the nerve of some people!

Had my 5 yr old daughter out on the roads yesterday trying to take her for a ride on our young Shetland. He is now 3 and we are still working hard away at breaking him in. I was leading him with her on his back trying to get him used to the roads while having a rider.
Most drivers are very respectful. We live on a quiet country road and usually people drive by very slowly when they see riders on the road.
Does anyone know what a Monster truck is? Anyhow...two HUGE LOUD trucks came whizzing by us at double the speed limit! One right after the other!

I want to put spikes in front of my house for jerks like this!

Thanks goodness our Charlie is a sane pony becasue he didnt flinch! Could you imagine the rider out with the spooky horse though?! Not to mention kids riding bikes, etc.

Just plain dangerous and I cannot stand peoplelike this!

wish we had more bridle trails around here
 
i know exactly how u feel. i am thinking about riding with a whip just so i can throw them at speeding motorists. when i ride out in the evenings i always seem to have some silly little girl (ok bout 18 year old lol) pass us at about 50 MPH. i accept about 20MPH or less as a wave and a thank you, anything over i consider stupid as how can they brake on time if a horse was to suddenly jump or move? anyway this girl never slows and thankfully my horse is very rode safe, but i also ride out with a 9 year old girl and tho her pony is never spooky she doesn't like stopping at road ends. so i usually give her a 2 fingered salute in the hope she'll stop to have a go at me so i can give her a talking to lol
i can't even get her number plate as she whizzes past. some people are so inconsiderate and dangerous.

I HATE those monster trucks! Can someone please explain to me exactly what the point of them is?

Deffo go for the spikes Jade! I bet those tyres cost a FORTUNE to replace!

I had a lucky escape last year. I was riding a youngster along the road then the road did a left hand bend slightly, an oncoming car with horsebox came towards me but on the other side of the road followed by a car, now I new my young boy would be fine but I thought I'd pop into a drive way to be on the safe side, as i was just entering the drive a car came whizzing arround the bend speeding and my horse did'nt flinch. The trailer driver was amazed and made a comment to me that some drivers are mad, . was I glad i pulled into the drive as the wizzy car either had to go into the trailer or me and I know which one he would of chosen. I live to tell the tell...
