Ok this may be long as wont to give as much info as poss

I have a 15'3, 8yr old TB mare who up to 6 months ago was the horse of a lifetime. All cheecks done teeth, saddle, phiso. Phiso said that she had ripped muscles in her shoulder when she has put the breaks on in the field has 2 weeks off 2 weeks hacking phiso back out all clear. Feed once a day on spiller light balancer and chaff, 2 huge haynets (hay) good grass, turned out every day

Just before I had all the checks done she became the nappiest horse I have ever known, would stop dead in school, ram be againist the fence, ears flat against head. Tried to work through it got cheecks done this was when we found out about shoulder so put some of it down to pain.

Have brought her back into work and hacking still great tries to trot dwn hills (they are step) but thats due to lack od back end muscle working on it. In the school she has stopped the stopping dead now just ears back when ask for trot and yesterday I had to trot with her nose againist he fence to stop her rubbing my leg againist the fence. After a coupple of laps she got the idea and worked really well.

Today no stopping, no aiming me at afence but broke to walk a couple of times from trot when not asked made her go staight back into trot. Tried to do a 20 metre circle and she set againist me and I could not "pull" her around the circle napping towards gate. Then again after a couple of laps she works great.

So the question is, is she just a nappy, grumpy mare thats needs to work through it, is there a supplement that may put herin a bettrr mood!

The fact that she never did this before suggests something is bothering her or she's in pain. 2 weeks for torn muscles to heal is not a lot of time, perhaps hacking is easy and schooling is bothering her shoulder?

Mmm, I think she's trying to tell you something. Horses are not bad on purpose, there is a problem...if only she could talk.
My first thought was two weeks was a short time for such an injury, and I would have been taking it very easy for at least another two weeks before doing any schooling.
I would give her more time off and take it very easy when bringing her back into work.
