I have given notice at my current yard, I'm all paid up on my fee's and I paid a Month up in advance when I first arrived!! so i shouldn't have to pay this next coming month :/

Im moving yards rather sharpish & only told them yesterday & I'm leaving on Saturday (however shouldn't matter as I have paid up until end of next month) moving sharpish as horses are stabled everyday due to there be no graving & horse is now getting swollen legs :/

but there now getting funny and saying I have to pay up a months rent still because it doesn't 'work like that' :/

Both the yo & daughter have now asked me for the third time to pay up for next months rent :/

Even more annoyed as the daughter was meant to be my friend.
And when I asked said friend(daugter)tonight why I had to pay daughter couldn't even give me a
Valid reason other than that I need to pay for my hay & straw which I have agreed with yo to pay on the day I leave as obs will still need hay & straw before I go

Why do people have to be so god damn aukward. :/

What notice period do you have to give?

If it's a month then as it's near the end of Oct it would be reasonable for you to pay for Nov. It gives the YO a month to get a replacement.

sorry just re read & seen you are paid up til end Nov & if so then no you shouldn't have to pay anymore unless it's a 2 month notice period

Thats the problem I don't have one. None of us do.

I've been a good payer & never had problems with them before always goton on well with everyone but tonight some seemed horribly off :(

I moved to yard in middle of the month & still paid paid full amount
So i still paid up until 19th of next month anyway plus I Paid the 100 in advance

In the absence of a contract and without the terms being made implicitly clear to you when you moved, I think that you are perfectly within your rights to provide the one months notice, as you are already paid up until the end of next month. That has been the deal at every yard I've ever been at. Can't help with how to deal with them, but personally I would be handing them the cash for the hay and straw on Saturday before you leave, and refusing to pay any more. Good luck!

What are they going to do, kick you off the yard? So you have paid a deposit which covers the next month, don't pay them anymore unless you have agreed hay and straw etc.

People will try to get the most money out of you possible!

umm don't see where there coming from but hopefully they'll stop being silly. think there just miffed that I'm leaving tbh & really I'm only making away for another girl to go get her yearling she
Was after as now there's a stable available.

argh yeah I've agreed to pay up my hay & straw I owe 5 bales of straw atm & 1 hay which I will gladly settle up when I leave at the weekend. Or before if they really wanted it.

I'm leaving because horse doesn't seem to be happy, only had her about 5 months & she just seems stressed as due to poor grazing & it being slighty over horsed, horses are being stuck in stables for 3/4 days in a row & all the horses legs are now starting to swell. So I've found a lovely new yard where she will be able to be out & basically be a horse.
if it wasn't for that I wouldn't be leaving, some lovely girls there & have mate some great mates,
But horsey needs to come first

i done the same as you when I left an old yard, but I did have a contact! I gave a months notice but left after 2 weeks and said that they could use my deposit as my last months livery, rather than me paying and them returning the deposit back!

yep exactly, don't see the harm in it there gaining 6 weeks rent of me. & I haven't asked for a penny
Back off them as I appricate them taking me on in such short notice. & I didn't want to leave on bad terns, but doesn't look like there will be a happy ending here. Plus side is I've met 2 lovely new friends :)
