Hi everyone,

My Freddie is normally a very happy bunny, he never puts his ears back or looks cross but over the last couple of weeks he's been a complete misery guts.
He's fine when he's out and about, it's just during feed times, rug changing, tacking up etc...it's not like he's turned evil but just not really himself.
He gets adlib hay, a well balanced diet, three/four nice hacks a week, he's wormed up to date, has company (he's turned very grumpy towards his field mate) and is generally in a good routine. The only difference is that I took him off Pink Powder about a month ago.
Could it be that he's just pissed off with winter (like me) ha?

Think we are all fed up of this horrible winter, I know I am and my 2 boys are fed up with no grass to eat and being up to their fetlocks in deep cold mud.

Grumpiness when tacking up, changing rugs etc can indicate stomach problems. Have there been any other changes e.g. poops softer/looser than normal?

The pink powder you were feeding is a good tummy settling supplement. If he was happy before I would probably put him back on it to check if this settles him down again or may be speak to your vet for advice. Luckily it is one of the cheaper supplements and ususally makes a difference within 2 to 3 days of use.

Hope he gets back to normal soon.

Be vigilant...

My TB mare recently went like that for a couple of weeks, i put it down to the miserable weather etc. Looking back now it seems it was a build up of acid in her stomach that was making her unhappy and she had a bad bout of colic. Luckily she was ok and is back to her content happy self. Now I know if her behaviour changes she is having stomach problems and I have been advised to give her Pink Powder. I would put your horse back on it if I were you.
