Just got back from the vet for our regular checkup on our GSDs. Little guy is optimum (yay) but the vet has asked us to bring the big lad back for an ECG on Monday as his heartbeat is slow and arrhythmic.

Obviously I will adhere to the vet's views on this but has anyone experienced anything similar at all? He will be 5 in two weeks, is fit and well in all other ways and exercises an hour a day off lead, at least two hours at weekends again off lead.

My dad had to go into hospital yesterday, I'm not sure if I can take much more bad news!

Better to be slow and arrythmic than fast and arrythmic :-)
Could even just be a physiological heart block which will revert to normal when excited/exercising. These things are pretty easy to see on ecg but sometimes a 24hr holtor monitor shows them up best
Dont worry to much

Ah thanks, that's reassuring! Yeah he's quite a slow beat, which hopefully will turn out to be something benign or easily fixed! Will pop back and post the outcome just in case it affects anyone else!
