Just chatting to cousins on FB and we were talking about old dogs. I was amazed at how much they remembered about George our first GSD.They probably saw him once a year but could remember him. He was our first shepherd and found me on my paper round LOL! He stayed with us for the next 11 years. My parents have had GSDs ever since. They wouldnt have anything else. I would have one too but dont have the time at the moment. They are just the best.

Whilst i cant guarantee lots of exercise i will continue with the mastiffs but one day i will have a shepherd again.

**sends out 'GSD Mafia' membership pack to Dozzie**

Go on, go on, go on.....

We found a pic of my old girl's sire in a photo album the other day, my Mum was in Oz and went to the Australian Nationals especially, just to see him. Wish we could have another like her, they broke the mould when they made her!

You can definitely be an honorary member Dozzie, even if you don't have a GSD at the moment. I know, you could adopt one of mine like they do with the horse charities, you send me money and I'll send you photos every so often. Some are dogs have a huge impact on our lives don't they? I have loved all my dogs but have just really thought about it and there were only 5 very special ones, and that is going back over about 50 years .

Thanks! You know I love the breed. Some dogs just touch the hearts of so many people. George used to get christmas presents from the local children LOL! Always more toys LOL! He made people love him! :)

Plus he was the dog that gave us the lifelong love of the breed. My parents had always had labradors before he arrived and set up home. We never knew his breeding but I think he must have been a working strain. So when i can have a shepherd I will go for a working strain. :)
