Have finally found Heidi's pedigree - months after talking about it!

So have any of the GSD boffs heard of any of the dogs listed below?

Sire is Cherock Jasper who is by Jack Vom Trienz Bachtal out of Merry Vom Loher Stern - spelling may well be a little out as it's not brilliantly clear.

Dam - Little Helper by Jasem Tyson out of Grangeguard Hinny.

Thanks MM!! Wow, she is almost identical to him, though not in the face, she looks like his father is the face (Nuch Gundo).

Quite sad that she is now partially blind and deaf

Yes Jack was a very good dog from the Treinzbachtal kennel of Herr Bucher, which produced some very good Siegerins, Ute is one of my all time favourite females - and that kennel is one of the backbones of the breed in Germany.
The Loher Stein kennel is also well known and Panja von Loher Stein was one of the top winning bitches in the UK in the 1980s.
The name Cherock rings a bell but I need to look at some handbooks to confirm.

No idea on the bitch line but Grangeguard was a working line, I seem to recall.

Have you heard of a Mrs Budd? She was the breeder.
 
There's a Beryl Budd of Kurtridge GSDs, a very well-established kennel formed from the Delridge and Kurtlee kennels (Ch Delridge Erhard was a very famous and prolific sire in the UK back in the day), don't know if it would be the same one though.
 
Agree with H-H, doubt it would be Beryl Budd, she had the Delridge affix for years, and Margaret Lee the Kurtlee and then they amalgamated to Kurtridge when they were breeding jointly. An advantage of my great age is that I was around "back in the day" and remember these things, in fact my then boyfriend handled Erhard to his title

Going back to your bitch if Beryl had bred her I imagine both her and her dam would have carried either the Delridge or Kurtridge affix.
I thought the affix Cherock rang a bell too, but think maybe I am thinking of Sherak, there was a Sherak Branding Iron, do you remember him H-H?
 
Yes, I remember the Sherak dogs (dual purpose, a couple of nice sables
smile.gif
) and was thinking on the way back from work today that I might be getting the two confused.
However Cherock IS sticking in my head and I can see a mental picture of a dog with that affix, I shall have to raid my bookshelves tomorrow night to try and find it!!!
