Anyone live near BWF ? Hows it standing up to the deluge ?

I see the forecast is for more rain tomorrow and Monday, dry Tues-Thurs and then heavy rain Friday :(

It usually stands up pretty well, and dries ridiculously quickly.

Team Reggie is there on the Sunday: first SJ outing on grass this year... Expecting poles to fly!!

Walked little dog round cross country this afternoon and it's much better than I expected - apparently the BE TA said the same at this weeks inspection. Not saying there aren't patches where there's water, towards the combintions on the far hill and down by the water, but luckily they did the ground work a couple of weeks ago when it was dry.

The forecast just keeps changing, so I think I'll give up looking and just hope it stays dry, today has been very windy and only showers rather than the really heavy rain forecast.

I'll be up there each night to see Bear anyway so happy to give updates.

I'm also jump judging Friday and Sunday so if you see a grey Landrover 90 on the course come say hi, I've also been lent my sons rather lovely camera so will try to get some photos too.

Bearsmum - Have you any news about Gt.W..? Have heard on the grapevine that it's looking a bit dodgy. Wonder if it will go ahead in view of the predicted awful weather...?

I went to the yard tonight night and they are hopeful it will still go ahead. The rain yesterday afternoon was awful, however it has stayed dry today, it's just every forecast you look at is different. I'd like to go with the BBC at the moment as they are not forecasting much rain for the next few days.
Everything is prepared and ready, as I'm sure you know it's BEs call and if the rain stays away I'm sure it will go ahead. There are wet areas, I walked the course last night but it drys quickly given the right conditions and it's only wet in certain areas, the take offs and landings are prepared.
Sorry I've really not been much help but conditions are changing regularly, I'll be up there tomorrow night and will happily give an update.
I understand a lot of horses are due to arrive tomorrow ready for Friday morning and can only add the organisers are doing everything possible.
Which day are you competing?

Thanks so much Bearsmum. It's so difficult to know what will happen - as you say, the forecasts are so different and change quickly..!! We are there (hopefully!) on Saturday so I wonder.... BE have given a little "warning" through FB, along with Gatcombe and Munstead. As ever - watch this space! Thank you again.

Well everywhere looked really good tonight, thankfully today has been dry. There's still some wet patches out on XC but overall not too bad, we'll see how it holds up tomorrow. I'm fence judging so should get a good feel of how it's going.
Some really nice horses being exercised and lunged this evening, I'm rather looking forward to a horsey weekend.

Going was fab today.... dressage arenas are hardly marked and xc course was superb. Lots of grass cover and not at all deep or slippery.

Yes, and the snow seems to have stayed away so far, so with this strong wind it should help keep it dry. Fingers crossed for the rest of the weekend

I'm suddenly verrry glad that we did our Fence Judging stint yesterday ! I hear they had horizontal sleet and snow at GTW today.

Good Luck to anyone running tomorrow.

Yes it was not pleasant today - I did do a tea run for the fence judges today though!

I'm about six miles away and we have quite a covering so I'm not sure now about tomorrow.
