Guaranteed to make you smile....

Bless them - what a pair.

Charlie looks less than pleased - William on the other hand looks full of mischief!

It's great to see William looking so well, but I'm not sure Charlie likes his new friend

Yes, he's going to stay a colt for at least another year, he's such a nice type and so like his sire we wanted to see how he would turn out. The vet assures us there should be no long term effects from his illness as the infection was round the joint area not in it.
An interesting thing is that he is much coltier than any of the others usually are, this is because he hasn't been socialised within the main herd, and learned his place.
He's been out with the competition horses but not the rest, I tend to baby him a bit after his bad start, and he comes in every night to keep his Dad company.

Charlie lets him know when he's had enough believe me! He turns round and bites him hard, kicks him squarely on the backside and then walks off.
Charlie is still quite playful even at his age, and is often seen play fighting with another 27 year old on sunny days. They have trouble biting his legs when they play as he is so low down!

I find our colts are far better for having friends, especially an older but playful gelding. I think its great as they can still get the coltiness out with someone other then you but still be reprimanded when they go that step too far! Our colts are still out together and are now 2 and 3, they have daft half hours then curl up together in the field shelter!

Hope all goes well with him, he's a cracker.

What a wonderful place to live!! im surprised you ever get any work done lol. The horses look very happy and contented that shetland has cheeky written all over it!!
