Ours (at retirement) are laid out in a diamond type of pattern to add stability and then straight at the bottom where the passage doesn't need to be so wide. You can see in the deepest mud last year how amazing they are!

oooooooooohhhh! See I do like playing with those. Even the enormous amount you have there.

I have another 40 to lay before winter, as long as YO is ok with me adding to the ones I've already put there.
