My dad went with 3 runners to Ludlow, I went to Wolverhampton(2 hours drive) with one. I got to Wolverhampton to learn that Ludlow was off, and that a bloke had been killed along the same road I had just come. We went past 2 trees on the road on the way there, and about 6 on the way back.
So had a drink, and watched the horses go to the start for the first. They came straight back.
Loaded up, about halfway home and get a phone call - road is closed about 30 miles on have to take a detour. Only problem was took a detour to beyond where I was told problem was, and ran straight into traffic. So took back road round diversion in heavy traffic, then sat going around the town for about 30 mins (less than a mile).
Then about 10 mins and I was home.
