What a beautiful story! Brings tears to your eyes just how wonderful dogs can be

Sounds like he developed glaucoma (says the owner of a dog who had an eye removed due to glaucoma). Cataracts alone don't necessitate the removal of the eye, but they often cause a painful build-up of pressure in the eye.
Such a wonderful story, and huge proof that blindness alone is no reason whatsoever to put a dog to sleep. When I take Stella to the veterinary opthamologist for her annual check, it's amazing to see the blind dogs mingle and navigate their surroundings by smell alone.
Can we be absolutely clear here - Edward did not have cataracts - this was mis-reported in the Mail. He had an inoperable eye disease. And to reply to the cold hearted robots who say he should have been put down - you clearly have no compassion in your souls and I pity you.
I don't think anyone on here has suggested putting him down![]()
