Hello all,
I have a guinea pig who is somewhere between 7 and 9 years old (she is adopted so I don't know her exact age but I've had her for 7 years now). She appears to be developing cataracts and I was wondering if I should be doing anything about it.
She is fine in herself and the condition does not seem to be causing her any pain or discomfort. Although less active than she was in her younger days, she is still able to get up and down the ramp in her cage quite easily and she has no other health issues (eating, drinking, squeaking, good weight etc).
If it was obvious that she was suffering, I would seek vetinary help, but of course as she still seems comfortable, I don't feel this is neccessary. Has anyone else seen this in piggies (or other small mammals) before? What did you do about it?
