having had such a miserable time recently and spending all day fighting bursting into tears at work, i tacked up and took my mare a little jaunt around the fields, it is truely amazing what a difference a bit of horse company can do!! by the time i got off all my worries seemed far less significant, fairly pointless post but just felt like sharing, wish there was some way to make sure i make her as happy as she makes me <3

Alfielola, nothing pointless about your post at all - it's good to be reminded how much they improve our lives.

However lousy a day is, somehow the moment we escape the trials and tribulations and get to be with our horses, all the other stuff fades into insignificance. (Not sure it's the same for professional riders, but thankfully I've never been in that league!)

When my husband gets narky about what it costs to run my horses I gently remind him I was at my absolute lowest ebb when I have not had horses in my life.

Horses are my sanity Just to watch them, be with them and indeed the icing on the cake ride them is the most levelling feeling in the world
