Gypsy cob in hand

Hi all, I've had my cob a few months, thinking about doing a local in hand show.
What should he wear? He's a gypsy cob, white legs.
Should he have a certain bridle and bit? He has lots of guard hairs round his face belly and back legs - do I neaten them up or leave him completely as he is.
I've never shown before so all completely new to me!

I show one of mine in a normal plain brown bridle with snaffle and if going for full floof then I don't trim anything.
