Well, he was AMAZING!
Day 1: we went straight onto the open dressage boards, me having a breakdown thinking it's so open and he's hyper and can gallop off anywhere he wants. Did he? Nope
he worked so well with the other horses and did everything I asked.
In the afternoon we went down to the water jump and have a splash around. He was doing so well until he stuck his head down and galloped off to the bottom of the field, got to the bottom (thankfully the gates were closed else he wouldn't have stopped!) tried to turn him around and trot back up, he suddenly span around almost throwing me out the front door, then went back to the gate! Resulting in me getting off and walking up to the other horses.
Day 2: He was super good, went on the mini XC and jumped EVERYTHING (he's only ever done XC twice before and they were a disaster!) so massive hugs and carrots for him that morning.
Afternoon we did a bit of jumping and a bit of flat and he was really good
Day 3: cross country again! This time on the bigger one, he jumped everything I asked but not everything the other horses did as I didn't want to push him too much
Day 4: flat work in the morning, which he thoroughly enjoyed, doing the swapping game were you and another pony swap places as fast as you can!
Then on the XC course, again! On the big one jumping doubles and huge scary ones I would never have thought he would! We had very little run-outs and sort of had breaks!
Day 5: competition day, accumulator first, we had a couple of run outs but he flew around jumping the 3ft ish outside jumps and we managed a scary filler! Then was chase-me-Charlie and the barrel game, we got upto about 3ft3 (I was so determined, as one of the snotty ones in the higher group said me nor gypsy could even jump 2'
) and then he went and knocked down the barrels instead of the actual jump, so that was us out!
Overall we came 4th jumping, 2nd Tack and T/O and we got a special award for most improved pony and coping with no breaks!
He's having a weekend off then back to work with our Mini ODE to train for and the beach next weekend
