I thought I'd take out an H&H subscription to avoid missing interesting articles and show reports.

As I'm now the proud owner of an iPad, I thought (wrongly ) that it would be cheaper to purchase an iPad-only subscription....

The current costs are:

~ Magazine delivered to your door PLUS iPad edition £91.99
~ iPad Only Subscription (ie no magazine) £99.99

So, if you want to cut down on unecessary paper / postage / polythene (mailing bag), then you need to pay an additional £8.00!

To me that doesn't seem right - I guess what I'll do is go for the magazine and iPad subscription and leave the magazine in the tackroom at the yard for other people to enjoy....

Ridiculous isn't it.

We are encouraged to do the right think and go paperless.
Apart from helping the environment, the paper and postage saved should surely pass
a saving on?

May we need a statement from then to explain it?!

I assume this will be a start-up cost.

Most products when new will carry a surcharge to cover the initial transitional costs and then drop once these rates are covered.

You can get a better deal than that. See p 67 of 17 jan issue.
Pay 20.99 quarterly direct debit equals 83.96 for year and includes free iPad edition.
Closes 31st January.

or do what I did which is to stay linked on to H&H offers and then buy a subscription. There are normally good offers around so I would keep any eye out for those.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions!

When you say "linked on to H&H Offers" do you mean on the H&Hn Facebook page, or is there somewhere else I can keep an eye on? I'm pretty sure that before the Olympics last year, they did a half-price deal on iPad only subscriptions (advertised on Twitter) but I missed it by a day unfortunately!
