Just wondered whether anyone had any experience of using H Wave Machines.

My horse has been off for a long while with a tendon injury and I've slowly brought him back into work over the summer with 2 months walking (slowly slowly!!) and started trotting about a month ago. I noticed he wasn't right - head up and would occasionaly do a bunny hop behind. Knowing him as well as I do I realised there was something quite wrong!!

Had his saddle checked and reflocked and made no difference. Had back lady out 3 times who said he had been overcompensating in all the wrong places whilst his tendon was bad. Got the vet out who said he was incredibly tight behind and wasn't using his back end properly so we used the H Wave machine on him to start loosening him up. It hardly started moving the muscles the first time but we used it again last night and it was obviously working a lot harder. The horse sweated up quite dramatically but (I'm hoping) it was because he is a very anxious person!! He seems a bit tender today.

Wondering what other people's experiences with the machine are.

My phsio uses one regulary, can make them a bit sore for a day or so, but I think they have really good results.

Have had great success with them-

Think that H wave machines are so amazing that if you were to have one based at your yard, you would not need a physio anymore! Or a vet so much for that matter!
Am saving up to buy one and would be using it twice a month to keep muscles free and supple.

Know that a few dressage yards have them but I do think that every sport horse yard should have one.

Thanks for all the positive feedback!!

I rode him last night for the first time and he definately felt much looser. He walked down a hill with conviction for once instead of creeping very crabbily down them!! Its great to know that something is actually working for once.

I would be interested to know if anyone else's horses have sweated up quite a bit whilst using the machine. As far as I am aware they aren't supposed to. We had to twitch him because he is a nervous horse esp. around men and my boyfriend was holding the front end!! He doesn't sweat up when twitched for clipping though. Any ideas? I was hoping that it was because the machine was making his muscles do a lot of work and its those muscles that he hasn't used in near on a year.

Clutching at straws again I guess!!

I have the same physio as M_M and she uses the H Wave on my two aswell - great machine IMO, you can really see the muscles loosening up and relazing. Mine always have 2days off work afterwards and are lovely and supple when i start riding them again.
